Meet Dove Strong, the heroine of the Dove Strong Trilogy

Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself
My name is Dove Strong, and I'm sixteen. I don't want to share too much information about myself because honestly, I don't trust many people. For example, last summer I made my first friend, a neighbor girl named Melody, and she ditched me when we were supposed to travel home together. Also, a couple of Christian guys who were supposed to help me tried to get me arrested–and maybe even killed. So there you go. I'm told I don't have great social skills. But what does that matter when I spend most of my time alone, just talking with God? God understands me.
Where do you live, and why do you choose to live there?
I live with my mom, brother, grandparents, and cousins off the grid in a forest in Oregon. But please don't try to find us–it wouldn't be safe for any of us. A clue, you'll know it's my property because you'll notice a whole lot of junk from the non-Christians who dump garbage at our place to annoy us. Once you get to the trash heaps, look up, and you'll spy our huge tree house and network of zip lines. Why do I live there? Well, where else would I live except with my family?
What is a quirk of your personality that people don't know?
I care about nonbelievers. There, I said it! My family doesn't understand this and thinks I'm crazy, but I met this Heathen brother and sister last summer who I actually like. A lot. No matter how I try, I can't stop thinking about their eternities.
Who chronicled your story, and why do you think he/she picked you?
I tell my own story, and I'm not forcing anyone to listen who isn't interested. But I don't know anyone else with a story like mine. So if I was you, I'd listen.
What obstacles did you overcome in order to reach your happily-ever-after?
There's this skinny warrior guy named Reed Bender, and he's got this giant of a brother named Stone. Again and again these brothers keep getting in my way when I'm fighting the elements to do God's will. They want to start a stupid Reclaim war that's totally against God's will, and they'd even kill me if that's what it takes. Of course Satan is my biggest opponent. He throws everything he can at me–snakes, wildcats, flash floods. Sky alive, does he have it in for me!
Tell us about your your knight in shining armour. What makes him so special?
Yuck. I don't like to think about romantic stuff, but I do know three guys my age who are interested in me that way. Micah, my slimy neighbor, is obsessed with me. Unfortunately, my cousin Trinity likes him, even though he's clueless. Another guy, Wolfe, is a non-Christian. For some reason he keeps showing up to help me out of tight spots. He's pretty funny and not terrible looking…but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be planning to date the guy since he's not a Christian. My third option is Stone Bender, a quiet, gentle giant. Yeah, he's a Christian, but he doesn't have enough backbone to stand up to his brother. And I'm pretty sure he tried to kill me.
The first time you saw your special person, what did you think? Was it love at first sight or did he have to grow on you?
I distrusted all three guys the moment I laid eyes on them. I guess you could say they've grown on me…although most of the time I wish they'd all leave me alone.
