Meet Nathan Drummond from Beauty For Ashes by Kathleen Neely
Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself My name is Nathan Drummond. I'm a mystery novelist. I began writing in college, although my start was not in fiction. You might call it therapeutic journaling. |

Where do you live, and why do you choose to live there? I chose to live in Atlanta, GA because it was far enough away from the town where I grew up, yet close enough that I could still visit my mother on occasion. However, her circumstances changed, forcing me to move back to Greenville, SC where I grew up. |

What is a quirk of your personality that people don't know? I'm not sure I'd call it a quirk, but people don't know that I've suffered panic attacks. I learned to mask them well, keeping that secret intact. |
|
Who chronicled your story, and why do you think he/she picked you? I needed help, but didn't seek the right kind. I think my story was told in order to lead me away from what was temporary and direct me to the source of true help. |
|
What obstacles did you overcome in order to reach your happily-ever-after? I had to move from darkness to light, from secrets to truth. |

Tell us about your special lady. What makes her so special? Angelina Hernandez is a truly special person, unlike anyone I've ever known. I met Angie at the Herald Center where I help with inner-city youth. She epitomizes joyful living. It's rare to see her without a smile, without a gentle word for the kids. Her sensitivity comes out clearly through the strings of her violin. She's just special. |
|
The first time you saw your special person, what did you think? Was it love at first sight or did she have to grow on you? I was struck by her gentleness. I won't say 'love at first sight' but definitely an attraction. Love grew as I came to know her. |
