Who is your greatest inspiration and why?

My mother. I have seen people’s demeanor freeze in interviews when I said this. Let me explain.

My mother was married two weeks before she turned eighteen. By age twenty-two she had three children. At twenty-nine she fell off a building that left her with a permanent limp in her right leg. That same year her marriage fell apart. She and her three children moved into a two-bedroom apartment and she went back to school. A couple of years later she graduated summa-cum-laude with a degree in Chemistry. At age thirty-two she was accepted into medical school. She entered medical school the year I entered high-school. My mother practiced medicine for thirty-five years before she retired.

During that time she raised three daughters. Through adversity she never lost sight of the calling God placed on her life. She never lost sight of the Lord Jesus Christ. She witnessed to so many of Christ that only God can know the number.

My mom is a remarkable woman. If I accomplish half of what she has I will consider that I have fought the good fight.
