Welcome Kim McMahill to the blog

What do you do when you're not writing?
I enjoy gardening, jigsaw puzzles, reading, exploring new cuisine, and spending time with family. I’m also a major travel junkie. My bucket list – anywhere I haven't been.
What is your next project?
I’m currently working on book 5, and possibly the final installment, in the Risky Research Series. The working title is, A Recipe for Revenge.
Who is your faviourte author and what is it that really strikes you abou their work?
I love adventure, and no one writes it better than Clive Cussler. I’ve read every novel in his Dirk Pitt series. Unfortunately, Clive Cussler passed away in 2020, so I’ve started reading one of his other series and plan to tackle them all some day. What strikes me about his work is his ability to weave multiple storylines together into one amazing adventure novel.

How can readers connect with you?
I enjoy connecting with readers. Probably the best way to interact is through my author facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/KimMcMahillAuthor/. What is your hero's main character flaw?
Nick Melonis is sometimes wound a little too tight. He likes everything orderly and that's not always possible.
What is your heroine's main character flaw?
Devyn Nash lacks finesse, patience, and is a bit socially challenged.
What can readers learn from your villain?
My villain had a rough childhood and ended up making poor decisions which took her down the wrong path and led to a life of crime. Once she recognizes the errors of her ways, she believes there is no way out, but she learns that it is never too late to do the right thing.
What makes your hero heroic?
Nick is loyal and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
what makes your heroine heroic?
Devyn is persistent, loyal, and tough. She never gives up and is willing to risk it all for justice.

Lets chat with the characters…

Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself
My name is Devyn Nash. I'm a Special Agent with the FBI and I've been obsessed with the Risky Research Cases for the past five years and I will not rest until I bring Coterie to justice.
Where do you live, and why do you choose to live there?
I currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah because that's where my job is. I've lived all over the world, but have always had a desire to experience the wide-open spaces of the western United States.
What is a quirk of your personality that people don't know?
I'm very confident in my job, so people might find it difficult to believe that I am socially challenged, especially when it comes to men.
What obstacles did you overcome in order to reach your happily-ever-after?
Well, I haven't quite reached my happily-ever-after yet, but I'm working on it. I've been in a long-distance relationship with a Wyoming Sheriff. It hasn't been easy, but I'm nothing if not persistent.
Tell us about your special romantic interest. What makes them so special?
I met Gage Harris five years ago while working on a counterfeiting case in his state. There was definitely a spark, but when the case ended we went our separate ways. We were reconnected during the Uinta Vitamin and Nutrition case. He is not only handsome and kind, but he has shown me respect like few others in the law enforcement world have. Although I'm a city girl through and through, he really makes me want to be a cowgirl.
The first time you saw your special person, what did you think? Was it love at first sight or did they have to grow on you?
The first time I saw him was at a rodeo in Montana and he took my breath away. I wouldn't necessarily say it was love at first sight, but he definitely caught my attention.
