How did you come up with your title? I already knew that a key scene of the book would involve eight cats dressed as Santa's reindeer and their owner (the female main character) dressed as Rudolph, so it came pretty easy. |

Are plots based on someone you know or events in your own life? Yes! When one of my best friends got married in 1978, I was her maid of honor, and her husband's longtime friend was the best man. The caper in Eight Cats is based on events that happened prior to the wedding (involving the groom's car), except that there was no romance between us–he was (and still is) happily married, and I became engaged later that year. |

Do you have advice for other writers? Plug into a supportive author group. I've been with the same group of four other writers for 5+ years and my writing wouldn't be where it is today without their honest, supportive critique. |
