Welcome Clare Revell to the blog today.
Tell us about you and your new book, The House That Jack Built
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk? I hand write everything first. Which is fine during the summer when I can have the curtains open at stupid o'clock when I can't sleep. However, I have now invested in a neck light, which means I can sit in bed and write in the dark. |
Tell us about your hero and heroine. What makes them likeable? Zander is more like an old friend now. But he still has secrets which I discover in dribs and drabs. He's flawed, admits it sometimes, but deals with them. Kate likes to think she's invincible, but she isn't. She has a strange way of dealing with a crisis, not always in the right way, but isn't adverse to accepting help…so long as its on her terms. |
What do you do when you're not writing? I tend to crochet when not writing or plotting. I'm currently making a jumper, and a blanket and a granny square top. Because like book WIP one is never enough. |
Did you learn anything from writing this book? What was it? That no matter how perfect I think the m/s may be, there is always a plot hole my editor will find and point out and demand I fill in. Several times… But that's what they are there for 🙂 |
In no more than Ten (10) words, what is the spiritual takeaway for your reader? God loves us no matter what we have done. |
What is your hero's main character flaw? Zander isn't a very good liar at the best of times. Yet he loves undercover work… so that's a pretty big flaw. |
What is your heroine's main character flaw? She thinks before she acts. |
What can readers learn from your villain? crime doesn't pay, nor does taking the law into your own hands. |
What makes your hero heroic? He's never afraid to put himself at risk to protect others. |
