O Come, All Ye Faithful (Latin – Adeste Fideles) is a carol attributed to various authors, including John Francis Wade, with the earliest copies of the hymn all bearing his signature, John Reading, and King John IV of Portugal. The English translation by the Catholic priest, Frederick Oakeley, written in 1841, is widespread in most English speaking countries.
