Hello Susan

How did you come up with your title?
Sam, aka Slam-dunk was a character in Whitney's Vow and was great at playing basketball, hence his name. It was nice to give him a slam-dunk Christmas as he deserved his own romance.
What is your next project?
I'm co-authoring some military Romances with my dear friend DeeDee Lake and will be working on writing the rough draft, titled Reconnaissance. The sad thing is I still struggle to spell that word!
Is there anything you'd like to add?
What inspired your book? My editor loved Whitney's Vow and wanted Slam-dunk to have his own story. I figured a Christmas story would be a great way to give him love.

What are your favorite series or series authors? I love Dee Henderson's O'Malley series and have read them many times. Her Uncommon Heroes series is also exceptional. Ronie Kendig's Discarded Heroes series is awesome. Janice Thompson's Weddings by Bella series is a hoot. There are many more by these authors and others but those would be the top ones

In no more than
Ten (10) words, what is the spiritual takeaway for your reader?

We are never too wounded for God to use.
Is there anything edgy/possibly controversial in your book? If so tell us what that is in
Twenty (20) words or fewer.

No.
What is your hero's main character flaw?
A hero complex.
What is your heroine's main character flaw?
Too trusting or naïve. it got her into trouble.
What can readers learn from your villain?
Evil and conniving–God will reveal your sins in His time.
What makes your hero heroic?
His patience and willingness to get help.
what makes your heroine heroic?
She persevered under painful circumstances but never lost her faith.

Lets meet your hero!

Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself
My name is Sam "Slam-Dunk" Cherio and I've served in the Army for years. Now due to an injury I have to give up the work I loved, and the danger. Never had a girlfriend through that, just too busy and didn't feel the risks I faced were something I could burden someone else with, especially the secrecy. Now I'm injured and need to figure out what to do with my life.
Where do you live, and why do you choose to live there?
I used to have an apartment in Texas but will settle in Montana to be closer to my friends Blake and Whiney, the closest people I have as a family outside of the Army. We've been through a lot together and I love the area. it's so beautiful here.
What is a quirk of your personality that people don't know?
I apparently look OK in a dress and wig but I hated having to shave my legs (Whitney's Vow) and my chest got lopsided. How do women ever walk in heals? Never again.
Who chronicled your story, and why do you think he/she picked you?
An Editor loved me in Whitney's Vow so Susan gave me my own happily-ever-after.
What obstacles did you overcome in order to reach your happily-ever-after?
I needed to get Mika safe, but had no clue if she'd return my affections after that. Thankfully, she did!
Tell us about your special romantic interest. What makes them so special?
What is it that captured my heart from the first moment I met Mika? She had a quiet dignity and was shrouded in mystery. I became impressed by her faith, perseverance, and dedication to God even while trapped and abused. She is also my equal at shooting hoops. I've met my match.
The first time you saw your special person, what did you think? Was it love at first sight or did they have to grow on you?
She intrigued me. It was love at first sight.
