I think readers will enjoy A Kringle Family Christmas because it contains a little of everything I enjoy in a Christmas story: characters facing real issues but overcoming them with God’s help, humor, and romance. The premise of the story is that Bethany Kringle and her dad are planning to skip Christmas, just like they have both years since her mom died. But then her brother unexpectedly tells her he is taking leave from the Navy to come home for Christmas and bringing his friend, Jay, with him. This leads Bethany to shelve her previous plans so she can give them the best Christmas possible.

Over the course of the story, Bethany struggles with grief and perfectionism, while Jay wrestles with low self-worth and trying to trust God when where He leads doesn’t make sense to him. These are issues we can all relate to as we navigate our Christian walks, and readers will find it encouraging to see how God helps them overcome them.

While some of those issues, particularly grief, can be heavy, I prefer Christmas stories to have some lightness to them, too. In A Kringle Family Christmas, Bethany and her brother have a fun relationship. Their teasing and banter add levity to the story. Hopefully, readers will laugh out loud when reading some of it. I know I did while writing it.

My favorite kind of Christmas stories tend to be romances. Judging by how many romantic Christmas movies are made each year, I think many others agree with me. When Bethany and Jay meet, they are immediately drawn to each other, and readers will enjoy seeing their romance blossom over the course of the story.

I truly enjoyed getting to know these characters and seeing their journey unfold while writing A Kringle Family Christmas, and I believe readers will feel the same way as they read it.

Bethany Kringle is planning to skip Christmas, like she has both years since her mom died. She thinks it' s the perfect plan... until her brother, Matt, tells her he' s taking leave from the Navy to come home for Christmas. And he' s bringing his friend, Jay, with him. Now, Bethany must fight through her grief to give them the best Christmas possible.

Jay MacDonald is afraid that God wants him to leave the Navy, the only place he has ever belonged. He' s also nervous about spending Christmas with his friend' s family, until he meets Matt' s sister who helps put him at ease. Jay immediately notices the grief Bethany is trying to hide and resolves to help her in any way he can.

As Jay supports Bethany, the two can' t help being drawn to each other. Could God use this Christmas to bring them both peace and possibly bring them together as well?
