How did you come up with your title?

I have a list of titles that I always look at for a new story, and a handful make my list of ten possibilities for my work-in-progress. I often let characters (especially their names), concepts, conversations, settings, conflict, and different story aspects percolate for a couple weeks before I actually sit down to brainstorm. I believe hiding from Christmas was a line of dialog in a holiday movie.

What makes this book special to you?

I only knew I wanted to do a time travel, and mentioned that to Sharon Dean, an avid reader and virtual assistant. I’ve grown closer to Sharon since I met her personally at a reader event in Deadwood, SD. She had a story idea that I embellished, so the premise was influenced by Sharon based on her love for her grandparents, and I’m thankful.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Yes. I would take another month to slow everything down by delving deeper into character emotion. Possibly do more with the scenes that go back in time. Short reads are great, but depth is good also.

Is there anything you'd like to add?

I personally like to read about characters who examine themselves, or at least are open to viewing themselves through the eyes of others. There’s always room for change. We can always change habits. We can always grow closer in our relationship with God. It’s clear from the get-go that Calissa and Monte have issues that prevent them from growing closer together. They need to realize they can’t change the other person, but they can work on improving themselves with God’s help.

How did you come up with your title? I had a shoulder replaced in June of 2020. The surgeon also did repair on a broken acromion (the flat bone connected to the clavicle) that forms the top curve. I found out later the pins were just “floating.:” So that part of the...
