It’s common knowledge that novelists love to write and there are many motivators that impel someone to that task. We asked Heidi Glick, author of Dog Tags and Hold for Release, what she loves most about writing Christian fiction. Her answer is both revealing and inspiring:

What I like most about writing is sharing the Gospel in creative form. I’m more of a shy extrovert. I like talking to people, but I am slow to warm up to them initially. I believe Christians are to fulfill the Great Commission. As such, I have gone on missions trips to Mexico, and I have shared the Gospel with friends and acquaintances. However, I feel that God has placed a burden on my heart to share the Gospel with words through writing Christian fiction.

Not everyone will pick up a Bible or a devotional or listen to someone else tell them about God, but they just might read a story. In fact, I’ve been encouraged by a friend who shared her conversion after reading a Christian fiction book someone had given to her.

I want to share the redemptive message of God’s love and hope, and I hope to do so in the most entertaining way possible. For this reason, I continually try to read more books on writing, attend writing conferences, and ask God to bless my writing.

Bitterness | One will Choose Forgiveness. One will Choose revenge

Carlotta Hartman's life is falling apart.

Although Carlotta desperately wants a child, her journalist husband just wishes their marriage would go back to the way things used to be before infertility treatments took over their schedule. While volunteering at an animal shelter to fill the void, Carlotta stumbles upon dead animals and a human body. Days later, Jake confesses to an affair with a co-worker. Hurt and confused, Carlotta moves in with her sister.

And then things go from bad to perilous.

As Jake receives counsel from a pastor, he pledges to woo Carlotta again and piece together their shattered marriage. But as Carlotta rushes out of Jake' s arms, she runs straight into danger. Like the articles Jake writes and holds for release, a psychopath, bent on revenge, vows to hang onto Carlotta until the time is right.

In the end, a secret from the past threatens to kill all hopes of a happy future.
